When we think about science, we typically picture the intricate work that scientists do in their laboratories and, more broadly, the discoveries and findings that they painstakingly
share in scientific journals. But science is meaningless if nobody outside academia understands it. How vital is turning scientific knowledge into storytelling? How to evoke empathy from the public and engage them in a deep dialogue with the scientists? We
explore how design can attract people in engaging in scientific breakthroughs, from public health to robotics to crime.
