Exploring the interconnection and collective agency between human and non-human intelligence, this project utilizes real-time data and sensors to dynamically shape the visual and sonic elements of a virtual world. Real-time biometric data from performers’ movements and living microbiomes are streamed into the virtual ecosystem to explore the interconnectivity among diverse living entities.

Tansy Xiao is an artist, curator, and writer based in New York. Undertaking interdisciplinary collaborations involving human participants, technological systems, and non-anthropogenic organisms, Xiao creates theatrical installations with non-linear narratives.
